Pay it forward

The draw rules.

Half of every tip to Get me a latte, after Stripe’s fees, goes into a pot. Each time the pot covers a gift card, one follower picked at random gets it. Here’s how that works, in plain English.

  1. Who runs it

  2. Free to enter

    Entering is free. You don’t need to tip, buy or pay anything to enter or to win. Tipping does not increase your chances: every eligible follower has exactly the same chance in every draw, whether they tipped or not.

  3. Who can enter

    Anyone who is 18 or older and lives in one of the 18 countries where the button works: Australia, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. The organiser can’t enter.

  4. How to enter

    Follow @getmealatte_official on Threads and Instagram. Either account counts. One entry per person. A username that follows both accounts counts once, and if we notice several accounts run by one person, only one counts.

  5. When a draw happens

    Each time the pot reaches the price of one gift card. The pot and every draw are on the public ledger on the barista page.

  6. How the winner is picked

    At the moment of the draw we take the follower list of both accounts, count each person once, and pick one at random. Your chances depend on how many people follow at the moment of the draw. Each draw is recorded in the ledger by date.

  7. How we contact the winner

    By DM from our official account, where we’ll ask you to confirm that you’re 18 or older and which country you live in. A winner living in Canada first answers a short skill-testing maths question. We never ask for a payment, a password or card details; anyone who does isn’t us. If the winner doesn’t reply within 14 days, isn’t eligible or doesn’t answer the skill-testing question correctly, we draw again.

  8. The prize

    One USD 10 Uber Eats gift card, or the local equivalent in your country, sent to you by DM. We don’t need your address. There’s no cash alternative, and the prize can’t be transferred to someone else. Uber’s gift card terms apply. If no Uber Eats gift card is available where you live, we offer a gift card of the same value for another delivery or coffee service that works there, or we draw again if you prefer.

  9. Nobody else runs this

    This draw isn’t sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Instagram, Threads, Uber or Starbucks. By entering, you release Meta, Instagram and Threads from any responsibility for it. Questions go to us, not to them.

  10. Your data

    We use your username only to run the draw and to contact you if you win, and, if you agree, to thank you publicly. Details in our privacy notice.

  11. Changes

    We may change or end the draw. If we do, we say so on this page, with the date. If we end the draw, whatever is already in the pot is still given away in draws under these rules. If what is left is less than one gift card, we top it up and draw one last time.

  12. Law

    Swiss law applies. If you live in another country, its mandatory consumer protection rules still protect you.
